If You Get Hurt At Work in Tennessee - Report Your Injury

If you suffer an on the job injury in Tennessee, you should report your injury verbally and in writing to your supervisor.  By law, you have thirty (30) days to report an acute injury but you should do this as soon as possible.
As a workers’ compensation attorney in Nashville, Tennessee I see many cases that fail because the injured worker did not timely report their work injury.  Many workers simply do not know they are supposed to report the injury and wait in hopes that the injury will get better.  While this may seem like a good thing to do at the time, the laws of Tennessee required to injured employee to report the injury in order to receive direction regarding medical treatment.
If you have any questions about what move to make in your work comp case, call Attorney Cody Allison at (615) 234-6000.  You can also e-mail Attorney Cody Allison at cody@codyallison.com.
You should also fill out an incident report with your supervisor to ensure the information documented is accurate.  Make sure to request a copy of the report and retain the names of any witnesses.  Call Attorney Cody Allison and put the work comp team on your side.
